Maruti Suzuki recently introduced its new mid-size SUV Grand Vitara in India and the car is supposed to launch in next month. At the time of its unveiling, the company had also revealed that after the India launch, the Grand Vitara will also be exported to other countries starting with South Africa. Staying true to the commitment, the company has finally unveiled the SUV in South Africa. Suzuki is set to launch the South African spec Grand Vitara in early 2023.

The South African version of this Maruti shares the same specifications as the India-spec model. The Grand Vitara will be offered both 1.5-liter K-series petrol engines. It will come with both transmission options five-speed manual or a six-speed automatic. And the manual gearbox will also offer Suzuki AllGrip AWD technology, which will be also seen in the Indian variant. The fully hybrid 1.5-liter is sourced by Toyota, which offers a pure electric range of 25 km and comes with an e-CVT.

The Grand Vitara has already received a good amount of response from fans in India by grabbing 13000 bookings within a week. This mid-size SUV by Maruti is 4345 mm in length, 1645 mm in width, and 1795 mm in height. The wheelbase is rated at 2600 mm. The Hybrid variant offers a dark chrome finished grille whereas the Mild Hybrid gets a standard chrome finish for the front grille. It comes with 3-element LED DRLs with integrated turn indicators and DRLs are seen merged into a chrome strip. The LED headlight is placed lower down below the DRLs.

While the interior of the India-spec variant gets Black leather with champagne gold accents with a matching stitch pattern for the interior. Whereas the Mild Hybrid variant gets Bordeaux faux leather with Luminant silver accents in the interior. The passenger side instrument panel offers a leather finish which is also extended to the door pads. The cabin of Grand Vitara also comes with a 9-inch Smartplay Pro+ HD infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay.
